Modern Driver Assistance Systems – Classes on AI Applications in the Automotive Industry

As part of the Faculty of Physics and Applied Informatics’ postgraduate studies "Artificial Intelligence in Data Analysis," a four-hour class entitled "Application of AI in ADAS Development" was held. The class focused on the use of artificial intelligence in modern driver assistance systems.

Opublikowano: 18 May 2026

The course, developed in cooperation with ZF Automotive Systems Poland, covered the process of designing sensors and algorithms responsible for implementing driver assistance functions. Particular attention was paid to convolutional neural networks, image segmentation and object tracking methods used in ADAS systems.

During the session, the requirements imposed on modern driver assistance systems by applicable regulations and organisations responsible for assessing vehicle safety were also presented.

The theoretical part of the course was complemented by a presentation of a test vehicle equipped with specialised equipment for recording data used during the testing of ADAS systems prior to their implementation in production.

The class provided an opportunity to gain insight into the practical application of artificial intelligence in the automotive industry, as well as into current development trends in technologies supporting road safety.
