She's young, incredibly hard-working, intelligent and ambitious. That's the shortest way to describe inż. Kamila Samolej from the Department of Solid State Physics, Faculty of Physics and Applied Informatics, University of Lodz. Kamila Samolej, at a gala, received a distinction from the Patent Office and the Polish newspaper Rzeczpospolita in the Young Inventor 2025 competition for her work on a radio sensor for measuring muscle tension on Wednesday, 10 December 2025.

"Young Inventor: We're Looking for a Polish Sam Altman" Competition in Brief

The "Rzeczpospolita" competition "Young Inventor: We're Looking for a Polish Sam Altman," the second edition of which concluded on Wednesday, 10 December of the current year, aims to encourage and facilitate the development of young scientists whose ideas can transform the world of science. The award also aims to raise awareness among young scientists about their rights and how they can protect them in the future.

The distinction in the "Young Inventor: We're Looking for Poland's Sam Altman" competition was awarded to inż. Kamila Samolej for her innovative work on a radio sensor for measuring muscle tension.

We would like to offer our sincere congratulations!

Success after success for the young researcher

We have recently written about the main prize that inż. Kamila Samolej received together with her team: RuFus Team, which included Dr Maciej Ślot (Faculty of Physics and Applied Informatics, University of Lodz) and Prof. Agata Bielecka-Dąbrowa (Polish Mother's Memorial Hospital Research Institute), in the Forge of Talents 2025 competition.

The RuFus Team was awarded for developing a non-invasive radio sensor that enables rapid, quantitative detection of transudate in the lungs – a solution with enormous implementation potential and importance for medical diagnostics.

We feel convinced that the world of science will hear more about this young researcher. We're keeping our fingers crossed for inż. Kamila Samolej's continued success in the scientific world!
