Ukraine in Europe: Controversies, Complexities, and Agency of a Multifaceted Interconnection

Explore the evolving relationship between Ukraine and Europe at the most Ukrainian university outside Ukraine! The 2nd KIU Summer School offers a dynamic, interdisciplinary program that delves into Ukrainian-European relations, identity, cooperation, and conflict—topics that are more relevant than ever in today’s geopolitical landscape.


What to Expect:

  • European Integration Simulation Game

Step into the shoes of EU heads of state and negotiate Ukraine’s EU accession! This interactive workshop, led by Planpolitik e.V., offers a hands-on experience in diplomacy, reform, and strategic decision-making.

  • Workshop: Mediation & Peace Processes

Learn the fundamentals of conflict resolution, mediation, and negotiation—skills essential for building a just post-war order. Organized by the Institute for Conflict Management at Viadrina University.

  • Crimean Tatar Studies Session

Discover the lived experiences and coping strategies of Crimean Tatars in post-2014 Crimea. Elmira Muratova from the European Centre for Minority Issues will guide this insightful lecture on memory, Islam, and minority rights in the context of EU integration.

Funding & Accommodation:

  • Travel expenses reimbursed up to 350 euro per participant
  • Daily allowance of up to 42 euro, covering accommodation costs
  • Accommodation provided in the student residence in Słubice, Poland
